Stork Twin City Testing of St. Paul, Minnesota, is approved to conduct testing on garage doors to two standards of the Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association International (DAMSA). The windows and doors testing department located in Maplewood, Minnesota, is currently testing garage doors to DASMA 108-05 (Standard Method for Testing Sectional Garage Doors: Determination of Structural Performance Under Uniform Static Air Pressure Difference) and DASMA 115-05 (Standard Method for Testing Garage Doors: Determination of Structural Performance Under Missile Impact and Cyclic Wind Pressure). Windows Testing Laboratory Manager Brian Amberg said, "We completed building of our new fixture for DASMA 108 testing in July and we have already provided testing to a garage door manufacturing client to the standard. There is growing demand for this type of testing due to a high incidence of severe and damaging storms, particularly in the Midwest this year. We can simulate winds of up to 150 miles an hour in our laboratory, and manufacturers often need or want to achieve this level of performance in their products to meet building safety requirements for a particular state or project. We've been able to provide DASMA 115 testing with our impact cannon for some time. We're hoping that providing testing to these and other pending DASMA standards will help our manufacturers create strong, successful products that they can count on."
